What Is Your Marketing Plan for 2024?

marketing plan 2024

We’re not quite sure where the year went. It seems like we were just talking about how to make your business better in 2023, and now we’re just weeks away from 2024.

If you want to make a splash in the new year, it’s high time to get started. Here are some of our favorite ways to get your 2024 marketing plan off the ground.

Your 2024 Marketing Plan To-Dos

Set Some Goals

Good marketing goals keep you on track all year long. What do you want to achieve this year?

When creating your goals, use the S.M.A.R.T. method. S.M.A.R.T. goals are:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Realistic
  • Time-bound

Thus, if one of your goals is to book more in-person demos next year, your goal would read something like “Increase the number of in-person demos by 15% by July 1, 2024.”

You want to set goals that are challenging enough to be worth it but not so challenging that the bar is out of reach. Even the smallest of steps get you closer to the finish line.

Call a Team Meeting

The end of the year (or the beginning of a new one) is a great time to check in with your team, talk about how things have been going and brainstorm ways you can be even more successful in 2024.

You wouldn’t be where you are without your people, so don’t forget to express your gratitude for their hard work over the past year. Making sure your team members are seen, heard and rewarded for their efforts is a fantastic way to boost employee morale — and happy employees will work far harder for your business than unhappy ones!

Pause for Reflection

Take a look at last year’s marketing plan. What went right? What went wrong? What went just okay but could have gone great if you’d done something a bit differently?

While you should always be trying new things, there’s no reason to completely reinvent the wheel. If something worked well in 2023, it’s very possible it will work well in 2024. If nothing else, it’s worth at least seeing whether it does.

By reflecting on past successes and failures, you can see how to have more of the former and less of the latter as you move forward!

Ask Your Audience

If you want to create a successful marketing plan that resonates with your customers, your best bet is to head straight to the source. After all, who’s better positioned to tell you how to market than the people you’re marketing to?

Consider sending out a survey asking pointed, open-ended questions about their experience with your brand. Some examples:

  • “What was your favorite promotion we ran in 2023?”
  • “What would you like to see more of in 2024?”
  • “What’s one thing we don’t currently offer than you would love for us to add in the coming months?”

By using your audience to your advantage, you’re giving them what they want and making your job a whole lot easier in the process!

Are You Ready to Make a Plan?

The year is nearly over, which means you need to be prepared to hit the ground running as soon as the new year’s bells ring out. By taking the time now to ensure all of the crucial components of your marketing plan are in place, you’ll enter the new year ready and raring to go!
